Wirral-Net James’ Football Challenge
Mad Evertonian and supporter of Mencap Liverpool James Hamilton will be undergoing a fundraising event with a difference in May whilst raising funds for our charity. James, owner of Computer and IT support company Wirral-Net will be taking part in a football match at Old Trafford- home of Manchester United. For James the challenge will be to wear the colours of Manchester United during the duration of the match- a tough challenge for this lifelong blue (particularly with an important semi-final FA Cup match possibly in the pipeline between the two clubs). James is a fellow member of BNI Mavericks, the weekly networking group that Mencap Liverpool are a part of too.
James says, ‘I will be playing a full 90 minute game at Old Trafford and wearing my usual number 9 shirt although it will have the wrong badge on the shirt!!! for the first and last time I will find myself in a situation where my name is on the back of a United shirt and I will have to wear the full United kit for at least 90 minutes. Not to worry I am training with many layers on so I can put my Everton top underneath to protect me.
Mencap Liverpool is a great charity and the team work endlessly promoting equality for adults with a learning disability in the city, – helping them to discover new opportunities, make new friends, and feel valued and safe in their community. I would appreciate it if you could donate any amount you can afford to help secure the charity and the people it helps. As an incentive I will also send everyone who donates a picture of yours truly in the Manchester United Kit.
James’ match will take place on Monday 16th May. To sponsor him please visit his fundraising page at; http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/wirral-net
GOOD LUCK JAMES AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT OF MENCAP LIVERPOOL!
