The government’s green paper on Shaping the Future of Care Together is a hefty document, so we’ve taken a read through it and here are the key points and questions that we need your feedback on.

There are more and more volunerable people surviving in our community. Life expectancy is growing year by year. Who is going to do the caring and how will they be supported? Would you like there to be a single assessment standard across England?

The major question the Green Paper asks is, if we set up the National Care Service, which many people have asked for, how will it be funded?

• Will people pay for care themselves when they need it?
• Will people have to take out insurance to pay for their care?
• Will general taxation have to fund care as it does the NHS?
