We are really lucky at Mencap Liverpool to have terrific trustees. Two of those trustees have recently completed epic challenges to raise money for our charity.

 

 

Matt took on the challenge of a sunset to sunrise swim at  Llyn Bodgynydd, a remote and beautiful lake near Llanrwst. 

 Matt said ” I’m the Chairman of this brilliant charity, Mencap Liverpool. I see first hand the fantastic work our staff do to support some of the 9,000 people with a learning disability in Liverpool, whether that be reducing social isolation, resolving a crisis or helping people to improve their life skills. This is vital work that costs around £200k a year to provide, so we really need people to fundraise for us.”

Phil agreed to take on the Ride London Challenge and he said;

“I  have agreed to undertake this gruelling challenge to show my support of a very worthy charity. When I agreed to undertake the event , I did thinking it was a Sunday jolly round the park failing to read further that its a gruelling one hundred miles. I guess if you are reading this you are aware how passionate I am about supporting the members and also its staff so it will all be worthwhile if I achieve my target.”

It is really amazing to have such supportive trustees who actively support all areas of the charity from fundraising to coming and speaking with out members at workshops and events.

Overall Matt and Phil have raised £3000 this year alone!
