Stumped for something to do at the weekend?
MENCAP LIVERPOOL invites you to take part in a fundraising event with a sporting twist.
On Sunday, June 12, we will be holding the Mencap Liverpool Indoor Cricket Tournament giving you the chance to have a laugh with friends and colleagues to help raise money for a worthy cause.
This charity cricket contest offers great fun and healthy exercise, as well as an opportunity to meet new people and try something new, at the Eight4Sport indoor cricket arena in Bromborough, Wirral.
Starting at 12noon, teams of 6-a-side will battle it out in a competitive mini league before progressing to the knockout stage – which guarantees each group at least four games’ play.
You don’t have to be a cricket connoisseur to join in – you will be playing a simplified form of cricket, which shares many similarities with the outdoor version of the game, and can be enjoyed by participants of all ages, sexes and abilities. We can also arrange for you to have a free induction at the Eight4Sport arena prior to the event.
And if you are handy with a bat or a ball, or you would like to put your cricket skills to the test, then this can be your chance to shine.
So why not come along, have some fun and, most importantly, support us in making a difference to the lives of people with a learning diasbility, and those who support them, in Liverpool.
It costs £15 per person, or £90 per team, to take part – this includes food, refreshments and equipment for playing the game. All we ask is that you wear comfortable clothing and shoes, and bring your energy and enthusiasm with you.
For more information, or to register for the tournament, contact Lucy Mortimer, Fundraising Officer for Mencap Liverpool, on 0151 707 8582, or email lucy.mortimer@mencapliverpool.org.uk
See you there!
