‘People with a learning disability should have choice and control over where they live’ – Mencap Liverpool Chief Executive tells BBC
Sarah Jones, Chief Executive for Mencap Liverpool, took to the airwaves last week to comment on the news that a Wirral care home, managed by Winterbourne View owners Castlebeck, does not comply with essential standards of quality and safety set by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Appearing on the Simon Hoban show, on BBC Radio Merseyside, Sarah commented on the condition of care homes today, and what to do if you are unhappy with the service you receive from a care home. Remember, help is at hand from local Mencap groups like Mencap Liverpool and National Mencap (Learning Disability Helpline).
