Mental Capacity Act Awareness Events
Monday 13 May 2013, 1-3pm – MPAC Building, Bridport Street, Liverpool, L3 5QF.
Monday 17 June 2013, 1-3pm – Millenium Centre, Childwall Valley Road, Liverpool, L25 2PR.
The Mental Capacity Act might not sound like something that has anything to do with you – but it does! In partnership with Liverpool City Council, the Getting Involved Group and United Response are holding this awareness session to help people with learning disabilities understand about the Mental Capacity Act.
Everything possible must be done to help people to make a decision for themselves. When a person does something or decides something for you, they must only do what is absolutely necessary. People should be allowed to make decisions even if others don’t agree. When you cannot make a decision for yourself the decision made must be the best one for you. Everyone has the right to make choices.
