Mencap Liverpool Annual General Meeting 2009 highlights
The 2009 Annual General Meeting (AGM) took place at Greenbank Sports College, Liverpool on Friday 9th October 2009.
Over 40 members of Mencap Liverpool turned up, including the trustee board, to vote through the new strategic vision for the organisation as presented by Chief Executive, Sarah Jones. The new vision for 2013 was met with enthusiasm by members who agreed that the organisation should be listening, collaborating, informing/advising, supporting and campaigning.
The AGM also saw the debut performance from learning disability group, The Company of Friends, who gave two performances including their upcoming play ‘Jack The Lad’.
Fran Coles from Local Solutions gave a presentation about providing for loved ones with learning disability in the event of the death of a carer or parent.
Ed Gilchrist, Ann Cavanagh and Rod Wilson were all re-elected as trustees.
There was also a brief report on the Access to Heritage Project, Employment Service and the forthcoming Circles Project.
Mencap Liverpool would like to thank all the members who turned up to the Annual General Meeting and hope to see you all, and many more, at the next AGM in 2010. If you have any feedback on the meeting, please email us contact@mencapliverpool.org.uk or call 0151 298 3191
