My name is Jamie and this is my second blog for Mencap Liverpool. In this blog I am going to talk about my Thursday club. The Thursday club is what I go to on Thursday nights every week 7pm till 9pm in Bridge Chapel in Heath Road in Garston. It is for anyone who has got learning disabilites and physical disabilites and we all mix and we all socalise together. At the Thursday club we all do different activities such as table tennis, pool, table football, Jigsaws, plenty of games for example Dominoes and we also have a quiet room for art and craft that Debbie is in charge of. we also have a team of people who run the tuck shop.

When thursday club first started we only had four vulnerable adults who had learning disabilities and now of all the members who come live in all different areas in Liverpool. Out of the 78 members who come to thursday club most of them Don’t need their own carers but their is a lot of members who bring their own carers, which includes all the workers and all the volunteers that give up their own time. In the past we have had 118 members who have come to thursday club when someone left we got a newcomer.  For all those newcomers who want to come to Thursday Club, they have to go on a waiting list as we need more people to help and volunteer.
