Volunteer as a Befriender
As the theme of Learning Disability Week is friendship we are also asking people to sign up to become befrienders. This voluntary role is so crucial to the work we do supporting people with a learning disability and can make a huge contribution to the people we work with. You can read more about the befriending role here Volunteer Befriender Role and if you are interested please call 0151 707 8582 or email volunteering@mencapliverpool.org.uk
On Friday 24th June 9.30 – 12.30 we are launching our #What Helped Me Project at St Bede’s Church.
Funded by the Big Lottery’s Help through Crisis Programme, the five-year project brings together organisations who specialise in advice, advocacy and crisis support.
We aim to ensure people who have a learning disability get help which is effective in helping them to improve their circumstances.
You’ll be hearing from the project beneficiaries themselves- follow #WhatHelpedMe to learn about their experiences first-hand.
If you would like to come and find out more about the project please email jacqui.bouch@mencapliverpool.org.uk to confirm your place.
We will be working with our partners RAISE, St Andrews Community Network and Liverpool Citizen Advocacy you can read more about each of them Who’s Involved in WhatHelpedMe Project
