‘Stand by Me’ Hate Crime Prevention and Awareness Event
Would you like to find out how to report hate crime and stay safe?
On Monday, June 20, Mencap Liverpool and National Mencap are hosting a joint hate crime prevention and awareness event for people in Liverpool who have a learning disability, the people they care about and fellow organisations.
The event, which is being held during Learning Disability Week, will mark the launch of Mencap’s three-year ‘Stand By Me’ campaign against hate crime.
Those who attend will have the opportunity to speak to the police, Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), Merseytravel, staff from National Mencap and Mencap Liverpool and more. We’ll be talking about the Stand By Me campaign, what Merseyside Police are doing to tackle disability hate crime, as well as how people can stay safe within the community.
This free event is being held at ‘The Door (Merseyside Youth Association HQ), 65-67 Hanover Street, Liverpool. It will run from 9.30am to 1.00pm and refreshments will be provided.
