In Memory of Paul Jones

Paul took part in our recent Volunteering workshops

We were very sad to hear that long-standing member, Paul Jones, passed away this week. Paul had been a member of Mencap Liverpool since 2010, and attended our social events regularly. He was a very active member, who always brightened our afternoons with his wicked sense of humour and his thirst for tea!

Paul also played an important part in helping to shape the way we work with people with a learning disability; he sat on our steering group, helping us to form new ideas, and he contributed to workshops on important topics such as disability hate crime and community volunteering. Paul was a unique and determined individual, who was passionate about staying active in the local community, and he had recently starting volunteering at the Royal Liverpool Hospital as a library trolley attendant. Our sympathies go out to Paul’s family and friends –he will be sadly missed.
