Sunday 8th June 2014 – Mersey Tunnel 10k
Take a 10k run through the iconic Mersey Tunnel. It’s a fun road race from Liverpool City Centre through the Kingsway Tunnel and finishing in New Brighton and costs just £20 to enter. Mencap Liverpool will support you all the way!
Saturday 21st June 2014 – Walk with me… A sponsored 5k walk along Liverpool’s famous waterfront
Get your walking shoes on and join us as we raise funds and awareness for our cause in National Learning Disability Week with this family fun sponsored 5k walk. The walk is for families, individuals, all ages and abilities, and for anyone who wants to join us to make sure the city knows all about us and celebrates those with a learning disability in Liverpool.
It is £5 to enter (under 12’s go free) and we ask you to raise as much as you possibly can for taking part – try to aim for £30! There will be a fancy dress theme (optional!) a medal for finishing, and lots of fun and energy to keep you going along the way.
Sunday 22nd June 2014 – Liverpool Chester Liverpool Bike Ride
A 50 mile cycle which loops through North Cheshire, with a half way stop at the Countess of Chester Health Park, where you can soak up entertainment before returning back through Wirral and the Birkenhead Tunnel and finishing at the Liverpool Event Village. There is no minimum on age upon entry, so kids can take part too! It’s just £19 to enter and is a very popular event. (There are other route options 25 miles and 100 miles depending on how confident you are!)
Saturday 9th August – Bucket collection, City Centre
Help us collect some spare change in the city centre! We are in need of enthusiastic volunteer bucket collectors for our bucket collections. Please lend a hand and join us for a morning shift (10am – 1pm) or an afternoon shift (1pm – 4pm) we will provide a bucket and t-shirt for you to wear on the day. Our collections are always good fun and a great way to meet new people. If you have a few hours to spare, please get in touch to find out more.
Sunday 14thSeptember – Silver Jubilee Bridge Zip Slide
The Silver Jubilee Bridge across the River Mersey is an iconic structure in Merseyside – do you fancy zip wiring across it? Well, you can! It costs £43 to enter, and then raise some sponsorship money for us for this daredevil event! If you are interested, just get in touch and we’ll give you the information.

Saturday 1st November 2014 – Delamere Forest Hell runner
A multi-terrain trail race around Delamere Forest, through bogs, water and scrambling up hills! The course is more than 10 miles but less than 12 miles and with watery parts, steep hills – lots of fun can be expected! To register for Hell Runner it is £35 – you are bound to get lots of sponsorship from friends and family for taking part in this challenging race!
Thursday 6th November – Liverpool Idol 2014
Following the success of 2013’s Liverpool Idol event – we will be holding this well loved corporate singing contest again this Autumn. Are you game for getting on stage with a full band and singing your heart out for us? It’s set to be another great event in our calendar – more details to follow soon.
Sunday 7th December 2014 – Liverpool Santa Dash
2014 is the official 10th anniversary of the Liverpool Santa Dash. More than 10,000 people took to the streets of Liverpool in 2013 for this city centre 5k race, dressed as Santa of course! The entry fee is round £15 (TBC) and your Santa suit is part of your entry fee. If you want to get involved, let us know – we will support you all the way!

Tea with me
We are asking anyone and everyone to hold a ‘Tea with me’ tea party in aid of Mencap Liverpool. ‘Tea with me’ is such a fun and easy way to raise money for people with a learning disability whilst catching up with friends, family or uni colleagues. We’ll help you with everything you need to hold your tea party, including posters and invitations. All you need to do is invite people along and ask them to donate a sum to cover their attendance or cakes consumed! We have a ‘Tea with me’ pack to help get you started and give you some ideas.
