Chinese New Year Liverpool 2013 – Brian’s Blog

On Sunday 10th February 2013 I attended the Chinese new year celebrations in Liverpool – year of the snake.
The celebrations started outside the bombed out church with a dragon dance. Despite the rain many people turned out to see this spectacular sight. The dragon weaved its way throughout Chinatown entertaining the crowds on its way.
There were also other events around the city centre. The bombed out church held drumming workshops and they created their own dragon. Drummers and dancers entertained people along Bold Street and there was also activities taking place in the Black-E.
I thoroughly enjoyed the day and look forward to visiting the celebrations again next year.
