Sarah Jones – Chief Executive

I’ve worked for Mencap Liverpool since July 2009 and I love it!  I’m the boss so I spend half my time supporting the staff team and the other half developing new project ideas and relationships with funders and partner organisations.

When I’m not working I love spending time with my girlfriend Bex and our springer spaniel Bobbi.  When Bex is at work, you’ll find me in the kitchen baking cakes and bread, making marmalade and listening to Radio 4 or Classic FM.

Jacqui Bouch – Office Manager

JacquiI began working for Mencap Liverpool in the summer of 2014, my role involves looking after the day to day running of office and looking after the whole team, the members and the Chief Executive. My team describe me as their ray of Sunshine. They admire my kindness, the time I give everyone and that I’m super dependable and organised, although I do have some organised clutter lying round from time to time!

A cup of tea in the morning sets me up for the day. My son and I make a great team and my family is most important to me. I enjoy listening to music, going our for nice food and spending time with my girls. As long as everyone is healthy and well I’m happy. Fairness and equality is important to me too, I love the thought of an inclusive world and this is what makes my job important to me!

My family and friends are very important to me, I have been with my husband for 40 years and would be lost without him. Together we share two children, two granddaughters and we have a grandson on the way!  Home is a special place for me where everyone can come back and stay, it’s also where my 3 dogs keep me company and make me smile.

My family and friends are very important to me, I enjoy time with other people and think that the best thing about the city of Liverpool is the people. Scoucers will go out of their way to make you feel welcome and at ease and they have the best banter in the world. I am so proud to be scouse.

I love going for walks in the parks of Liverpool, my favourite place in Liverpool is the Japanese garden in Caulderstone park. My second favourite place is is my parent’s back garden because they have the most beautiful garden I have ever seen. I love going there to listen to the birds and have bbqs with my family. I love inspiring others to achieve their goals and making people feel good about themselves.

I welcome everyone as an old friend that I haven’t met yet. My family are the most important thing in the world to me and I love spending time with them. I wake up each morning wanting to make each day the best it can be, for everyone I come across, and I take it as a new chance to be the best person I can be – I don’t often achieve either but that’s my goal.

Emma Hammond – Volunteer Coordinator

Hi. I’m Emma! I have only been in the job since 5th November 2020 (bonfire night!) and I am responsible for recruiting and training new volunteers to support members of Mencap and beyond.

I have not lived in Liverpool for very long but already love the city and the wonderful people I am meeting as part of my new role! I am a mum of 4 and a grandma of 6 and am very busy with them most of my free time. When I do get a moment to myself I love to bake, walk in Sefton Park and go out dancing (but not at the same time!)

I believe that everyone has something positive to share with the world and I try my best to support people in finding out what that is! Sharing is caring.

If you’d like to become a member of Mencap Liverpool & Sefton (or refer somebody who would), or if you’d like to support us as a volunteer or fundraiser, please do get in touch! We’d love to hear from you!
