2011 Liverpool Marathon Effort #2
Oh dear- my marathon training has stalled once again đ
After starting my training late due to a back problem, I managed to pull a muscle in my calf on one of my first training sessions back- I’ve been told to avoid running for at least a week and I’m meant to stay off it as much as possible which hasn’t been easy as I’m always up and about doing things. There’s only 9 weeks left so I’m starting to get a bit anxious! If anyone has any tips about avoiding injuries I’d be really grateful.
Something to put a smile on my face is another addition to our marathon team- Local Co-op manager Gareth McBurney signed up last week- it’s also his first marathon and he’s only just starting to train so I think there’ll be quite a bit of competition between us. The person I really want to beat though is Kevin Whittaker- one of our volunteers who is planning to run in fancy dress- he hasn’t decided what costume to wear yet so let us know if you have any good suggestions!
