Get Involved
There are four main ways to get involved with Mencap Liverpool. You can volunteer, donate money, fundraise or become a member. Or, you could do all four!
Join
Joining Mencap Liverpool means you’ll be welcomed into our family of supporters. You might be a parent with a child who has a learning disability, you may be someone with a learning disability or you may have a good friend who has a learning disability. Whatever your connection with learning disability come and join us.
Together you can help us shape projects that benefit people with learning disability and their carers, help us to lobby local authorities and service providers for better care and also meet other people in a similar situation to your own – to share stories or advice.

We can help you volunteer in a charity or organisation in Liverpool that you are interested in helping.
This can be because…..

- You want to make new friends
- You would like to try something new
We welcome all volunteers to apply with us. We match volunteering roles around the skills that you have.
We can also match you up with a ‘volunteer buddy’ to go volunteering with you in some organisations.

Donate
The money that you donate to Mencap Liverpool will help us to build on our projects, preparing people with learning disabilities for paid jobs they can do or for volunteer work, and involving them in making our cultural heritage accessible to everyone.

Fundraise
You can raise money for Mencap Liverpool in a variety of ways, from cake sales to sponsored walks there are loads of ways to help us keep delivering on our mission of supporting families with learning disability. We work closely with Royal Mencap to find ways for you to fundraise, including big sporting events such as the London Marathon or music/entertainment events such as Liverpool Idol. Helping to fundraise for Mencap Liverpool also helps to raise awareness of learning disability in Liverpool.
